Standards Tips

We have received reports from residents in regards to finding snakes in their yards.  Please follow these tips to help deter snakes from entering onto your property.

  • Snakes enter areas inhabited by people in search of food and shelter. The easiest thing you can do is make your home and yard less appealing to them.
  • Prevent snake problems by removing their food sources like rodents. Don’t leave pet food out and store animal feed in tight containers.
  • Snakes like cool damp places to hide. Seal entry points which are greater than ¼ inch in diameter.
  • Make sure door sweeps and window screens fit tightly. Cover vents and drains that lead into your home with galvanized screening.
  • Snakes also find shelter under scrap metal, wood piles, trash, and other debris. Keep your yard area free of possible hiding places, including tall grass and weeds which can attract prey for snakes.

If you see graffiti or vandalism in the Villages of Westcreek, please report it to the office at 679-8761.

Please be sure to pick up after your animals on all common areas and while in the Sports Park.  A pet waste station is located next to the park rules sign.

Public Safety Tip

Recently there’s been a huge increase in women traveling solo, both for pleasure and for business. Below are some tips for safe traveling:

  • Give someone back home your itinerary.
  • Take pictures of all your documents and put them on a locked site like DropBox that you can access from any computer (i.e., Passport, IDs, ticket numbers, reservations, etc.)
  • International phone plans are worth it for emergencies. If you don’t want to spring for a whole plan, at least pack a couple of international phone cards with you in case you need them.
  • Consider travel insurance. Places like World Nomads provide travel insurance to individuals, couples, or families to cover all manner of unexpected costs. For a reasonable fee they will not only cover medical and dental emergencies, but also reimburse you for lost baggage, trip cancellations, or delays, rental car damage, and more.
  • Schedule a regular check-in with someone back home.
  • Register with the U.S. Department of State. If something noteworthy happens in the country you’re in or at home, they will let you know ASAP. You can also download their Smart Traveler app.
  • Register with the International Association for Medical Assistance to Travelers (IAMAT). They’ll help you locate a nearby medical clinic with approved doctors where they speak English.

Mintco, the subcontractor for AT&T will need access to certain backyards. Over the next several weeks, Mintco crews will be working in the Villages of Westcreek. The crews will need to access backyard easements so crew members will be leaving door hangers. Should you receive one, we ask that you please make arrangements or accommodations for the crew members to have access.

Once the work is complete, they will mend any damage caused to your lot during this process.

If you, the homeowner, have any questions you may call Oscar Hernandez with Mintco at 210-634-9055.
