2015 Assessments

The assessments for 2015 are $328.00 for the year or $82.00 quarterly. If you pay quarterly, please remember the due dates are January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1, 2015. Finance charges are applied on past due assessments. IMPORTANT: ***All residents 12 and older must have a current VWOA ID card in order to access the pool and park and attend VWOA events.

 

Sports Park Operational Hours Change Effective December 1st, 2015 through March 1st, 2016

Due to Daylight Saving the operational hours from Sunday through Thursday will now be scheduled from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.  The scheduled hours for Friday and Saturday will remain the same from 8:00am to 10:00 pm. 

 

Office Closed

The VWOA office will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 26th and 27th in observation of the Thanksgiving Holiday.  We wish all of you a happy holiday!

Villages of Westcreek Angel Tree Sponsorship

The Villages of Westcreek sponsors an Angel Tree each December in order to spread some cheer.  If you know of an Angel who is in need please stop by the office and submit a registration form, these forms can also be placed in our drop box.  The registrations must be submitted by December 4th at noon.  All ages are eligible.  All information will be kept confidential and gifts can either be picked up at the office or delivered if needed.  If you have any questions please call the VWOA office at (210)679-8761.

 

Updating Your Villages of Westcreek ID Cards

Are you short on time and have trouble getting to us during our normal office hours?  Along with our regular scheduled hours during the week our office remains open every Monday from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm.  In addition to that we open our office on the second Saturday of each quarter.  If for whatever reason you may not have had the chance to update your ID cards, you may drop them off in an unsealed, self-stamped self-addressed envelope at our drop box at the office.  We will gladly update your cards (assessments must be up to date) and mail them back to you.  (Please remove any lanyards from them prior to drop off).

 

Position Open

We are seeking to fill a Park Monitor position.  The position is a part time position responsible for checking ID cards at the Sports Park along with helping maintain cleanliness of the park and the facilities.  Please inquire within.

 

2016 Budget Approval

The 2016 Annual Budget for the Villages of Westcreek was approved at the Board of Director’s Meeting held in October.  The assessment level for 2016 will increase in order to provide funding for the Repair and Replace Reserve Fund and the Capital Improvement Fund.  The annual assessment level will go from $328.00 to $360.00.  Please keep a look out for the Payment Coupons to be mailed out by late November.  The payment coupon notifies our homeowners of when the payments are due on a quarterly basis at a new rate of $90.00 per quarter. 

 

Payment Options

The VWOA office accepts homeowner’s checks, credit cards, cash and money orders. If you cannot get to the office during office hours or do not live in VWOA, you can now pay your assessments online at www.villagesofwestcreek.com.  Also, you may wish to set it up with your bank as a bill pay, the bank will mail a check directly to us. Please use your house number and street name as your VWOA account number. Homeowners can also mail their check personally to us. Please send payments to VWOA, 12395 Military Dr W., San Antonio, TX 78253. VWOA does not accept checks from non-homeowners. At this time we cannot accept payments over the phone. Please note that the P.O. Box is closed.

 

ARC Committee Meetings Holiday Schedule

The ARC will not be meeting during the Thanksgiving (11/24), Christmas (12/22), and New Year’s (12/29) Holidays.  If you wish to do any improvements throughout your property over the upcoming holidays, applications must be submitted for review by noon on Monday the weeks prior (11/16 & 12/14).  Please remember that improvements shall not be commenced without prior approval from the ARC.  If done so without approval, you risk having to remove the improvement if found not in compliance with the CC&Rs or Standards.

 

Farmer’s Market

The Farmer’s Market will be suspending their visits for the winter and will return next spring in May.  They would like to thank you for your support throughout the year!

 

Facility Rental

The Community Center and Sports Park Pavilion are available to rent for your next event. The facilities can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Water Restrictions Stage 2

Under Stage 2, outdoor watering with a sprinkler or irrigation system is allowed only once a week from 7a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 7 p.m. to 11p.m., on your designated watering day, as determined by the last number of your street address:

0 or 1 – Monday
2 or 3 – Tuesday
4 or 5 – Wednesday
6 or 7 – Thursday
8 or 9 – Friday

Standards Tips

Property Improvement Application requirements are as follows:

  1. A PIA must be submitted to the ARC for approval with a complete description of the proposed improvement/change. 2. A complete description will make it easier for the ARC to properly, thoroughly and promptly render a decision without causing a delay. 3. For example, a complete description usually requires a copy of the Plat/Lot Survey (if applicable) showing the location of the improvement/change as well as any applicable documents, materials, color samples, drawings, sketches, pictures, brochures, photographs and all applicable dimensions that adequately describe the proposal. 4. If the Plat/Lot Survey is required and is not on hand, a copy may be obtained from your title company or the Bexar County Clerk’s Office.

Please be sure to pick up after your animals on all common areas and while in the Sports Park.  A pet waste station is located next to the park rules sign.

Public Safety Tip

Fire Safety

In only a matter of minutes, a small house fire can rage out of control.

Heat temperatures from the building fire can reach up to 1,500°F. The flames emit carbon monoxide gas, which is odorless, colorless and tasteless – and can cause immediate unconsciousness, followed by death. Every family should have and practice a home escape plan to follow in the event of a fire. The plan should include drawing a diagram of your home, marking the locations of windows and doors; planning two escape routes out of every room of your home; setting up a meeting place outside of the home for everyone to go following an escape; and practicing the escape plan once a month. Every member of the family and frequent visitors to the home should know and practice the escape route. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) stresses that even children as young as 3 years old can understand an escape plan.

Safety Tips

 Complete a home fire safety checklist and identify fire risks in your home.

 Test smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors monthly and change the batteries at least once a year.

 Place smoke alarms on each floor of your home and in each bedroom.

 Make sure that everyone in the home can hear the smoke alarm from their bedrooms.

 Make a family fire escape plan and practice it once a month.

 Make sure that everyone in the house understands the family fire escape plan.

 Place fire extinguishers throughout your home and make sure everyone in the house knows how to use them.

 Never leave food unattended on the stove, keep all matches and lighters out of the reach of children, and don’t place portable heaters near flammable materials.

AT&T FIBER OPTICS INFRASTRUCTURE

Mintco, the subcontractor for AT&T will need access to certain backyards. Over the next several weeks, Mintco crews will be working in the Villages of Westcreek. The crews will need to access backyard easements so crew members will be leaving door hangers. Should you receive one, we ask that you please make arrangements or accommodations for the crew members to have access.

Once the work is complete, they will mend any damage caused to your lot during this process.
