VWOA Angel Tree
As the Holidays draw near, we give thanks for the blessings in our lives and share a desire to help our neighbors in need.
The Villages of Westcreek will be sponsoring an Angel Tree this year. The Angel Tree is set-up in the Community Center lobby. If the spirit of the season calls you to share, please come by and pick an Angel to sponsor. Through efforts of the Villages of Westcreek, residents in our community who otherwise might not have a joyful holiday can be assured a special season through the Angel Tree project. Some of our residents here in Westcreek are struggling this year and all Angels in need will be Westcreek residents, your neighbors. Angel Tree gives individuals an opportunity to adopt less fortunate residents and provide them with personalized gifts and necessities to those who would otherwise receive very little or nothing during the holiday season. Donors can be confident that their gifts go directly, and without any overhead, to those who are truly needy. If you or someone you know needs a little help from the Westcreek elves, please call 210-679-8761 or stop by the office to register for our Angel Tree. The Angel Tree recipients’ information will be confidential and the gifts will be either picked up or delivered. So come choose your Angel and let us ensure that all of Westcreek has a very Happy Holiday!
Deadline for submissions is December 6, 2012 at noon.

Public Safety Tip
Carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning is a real threat. Carbon Monoxide is a poisonous gas that you can’t hear, taste, see or smell.Sources of the gas can include malfunctioning appliances – including furnaces, stoves, ovens and water heaters – that operate by burning fossil fuels such as natural or liquefied petroleum. Other sources include vehicle exhaust, blocked chimney flues, fuel-burning cooking appliances used for heating purposes, and charcoal grills used in the home, tent, camper, garage or other unventilated areas. When malfunctioning appliances aren’t adequately ventilated, the amount of CO in the air may rise to a level that can cause illness or even death. Have a qualified service professional inspect your fuel-burning appliances at least once a year. Install UL certified CO alarms outside of sleeping areas and near all fuel-burning appliances.
If you see graffiti or vandalism in the Villages of Westcreek, please report it to the office at 679-8761.
